Dr. Mohammed Siddique Rassool mrassool@witshealth.co.za
Dr Rassool is a Deputy Director at the Clinical HIV Research Unit, University of the Witwatersrand Helen Joseph Site. He will be the lead project Investigator and manager for the TB Sequel II Project and will oversee all activities related to research Task 1 at this site as well as some activities related to research task’s 4 and 5.
Dr Rassool holds a medical degree (MBChB) and a diploma in HIV management. He has a long-standing experience in phase I-IV HIV and TB clinical trials. He has served as the TB research lead at the CRS for the past decade and brings with him a wealth of TB experience:
These diverse TB research topics together with global partner collaborations has empowered him with an integrated comprehensive approach that informs current and relevant global research requirements. Furthermore, Dr Rassool’s main areas of research are HIV, TB, HIV and TB co-infection as well as other HIV related co-infections, with interest in HIV and TB Vaccines
