Rebekka is a Medical student at LMU Munich.
Please tell us a little bit about yourself:
I am a medical student from Germany currently studying in my fifth year at LMU Munich. I am really passionate about working in foreign countries as well as getting to know different cultures and people.
Please tell us a little bit about your research:
My research was done in Mbeya (Tanzania) and comprises of the TB Sequel sub-study the “Spirometry-Ancillary Study in Healthy Volunteers”. My Tanzanian colleagues and I were collecting spirometry results of a healthy child and adult population to establish spirometry reference standards for Mbeya region specifically and Tanzania in general. Those reference standards can then be utilized to compare with TB Sequel spirometry results from Tanzania.
What is the most exciting thing about your job and or research?
The most exciting part of my research in Mbeya was the opportunity to visit many Tanzanian families as well as living and working in Tanzania for a longer time span.
